Saturday Wrap-Up 26/12/2015

Saturday 26/12/2015

Good racing and a fair track was the order of the day on Boxing Day as the curtain came down for the final meeting at the Gold Coast for 2015. With the Magic Millions fast approaching the Group3 race for 2YO horses was very competitive and Zelady's Night Out displayed her credentials and proved she had no difficulties running out a strong 1200M while Sundance pulled up a little worse for ware after enduring a tough run outside the Sydney visitor Slumber Party. Nikitas ran on well. Later in the day Tinto showed her class winning with the big weight and Bachman put away a good field in the Goldmarket sending home favourite backers on good terms.

NEXT WEEK

On Saturday 2 Jan 2016 we have a betting only meeting scheduled at the Gold Coast track ahead of the big week heading towards the Magic Millions carnival on 9 January.

Saturday Wrap-Up 12/12 & 19/12 2015

Saturday 12/12 & 19/12 2015

Saturday 12 December saw the track downgraded twice during the day however in the 1800M event I thought the 4YO mare Unassuming looked to have some upside as she is lightly raced and came to this Class3 event from her previous start maiden win. The track was in good order for the 19 December meeting and from this meeting I am expecting Tibrogargan Miss to continue to race well. Whilst her win was slightly slower time than Kudero in winning later in the day Tibrogargan Miss carried slightly more weight than he and the pace was well and truly put on for Kudero by the grey Chinchilla speedster Bagger Chance.

NEXT WEEK

Boxing Day is shaping up to be a very good meeting at the Gold Coast. There are very interesting lead up races programmed and strong nominations have been received for this meeting which precedes the feature Magic Millions meeting on 9 January 2016 which is just two weeks away from this meeting.

Saturday Wrap-Up 21.11 / 28.11 / 05.12.2015

21.11 / 28.11 / 05.12.2015

The November 21 & 28 meetings have thrown up very little with respect to future winners, however the 5 December meeting produced the speedy Spinnaker Run which looked very impressive in winning the Maiden over 900M in good time and had Mini Meld not had such a hard run in the Class 2 over 1100m he would have finished much closer .... therefore I am highlighting those two runners from recent meetings.
